SATELLITES

During VIDEONALE.20, screenings of individual video works and performances took place at various locations in Bonn's urban space. For a few days during the festival, the Bad Godesberg drinking pavilion, the Posttower and the Schaumburg became venues for healing water aperitifs, sound baths, lecture performances and video evenings.

RESONANZEN

For the VIDEONALE.20, Anne Diestelkamp (Program Curator V.20) and Annette Ziegert (Artistic Director Program V.20) developed the format of RESONANZEN, which brings video art into a dialogue with literature, music and various fields of research. For each event, texts, sound pieces and discussion partners were curated in resonance with the themes of selected video artworks.

INTRODUCTIONS

In guided situations, the INTRODUCTIONS offered a multifaceted approach to works of art from the VIDEONALE.20. The aim of the INTRODUCTIONS is to intensify the holistic perception of video art through various approaches (e.g. physical, linguistic, textual, via sound/music).

PERFORMATIVE CITY WALKS

During VIDEONALE.20, unlike in previous editions of the festival, video works were not only shown at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, but also at six unusual exhibition locations in Bonn's city center: in a former store, a club, a project space, a van, a former centrifuge and in a shop window.

CHILDREN'S SHORT FILM PROGRAM

During the Easter holidays (13 to 27 April 2025), we presented a special children's program with animated short films for children aged five and over and their adult companions at the Kunstmuseum Bonn as part of the Videonale exhibition. In the middle of the exhibition, visitors could take a seat on cushions and embark on a dream journey.
