We are celebrating the 20th edition of Videonale as a big festival of encounters with video art and its creators: 26 international historical and contemporary works of video art can be viewed from April 11 to May 18, 2025 in an elaborate exhibition presentation at the Kunstmuseum Bonn and at six exhibition stations in the city of Bonn. The Kunstmuseum and the stations in the city form the VIDEONALE.20 parcours, which can be explored individually with the Videonale city map or together on guided tours and walks. In addition, various events as part of the prologue, on the opening days and throughout the festival invite visitors to engage intensively with the works.

While the museum is a safe space allowing a perception of art that is detached from everyday life, the presentation in the urban space invites visitors to relate the works and their content to the everyday. With the prologue events in the months leading up to the festival, the exhibition stations and pop-up satellites during the festival in stores, historic buildings, private living rooms and the Post Tower, we are bringing video art into the heart of social life and where most of its themes originate. The program was developed in close partnership with actors in the city's society.
