Flow

The Flow is a space for radical art and a creative playground for multimedia forms of expression, poetry and intervention. The focus is on future-aesthetic, socio-critical and sustainability-oriented projects, which above all give visibility to marginalized perspectives. The shared studio with an art off-space and its large garden thrives on interdisciplinary and intercultural exchange. It brings together a diverse community and defines social boundaries fluidly.

Artists

In Flow, the Videonale is showing an exhibition (April 11 to May 25, 2025) that was created in collaboration with the women participating in the project I AM THE FIRST LESBIAN I EVER MET by Dani and Sheilah ReStack. Based on questions that the participants have asked themselves with regard to their own biographies, social conventions, life in old age and the meaning of lesbian community, an insight into the topic is given and at the same time a space for dialog and coming together is opened up. The comprehensive video work "Circle Conch" with portraits of the women from Dani and Sheilah ReStack can also be seen here.

Some of the video portraits can be seen temporarily on various monitors in the city and permanently in the window of Atelier Meissner for the duration of the Videonale.

The exhibition was created in collaboration with: Anne, FemaleArtworldwide, Germany, J.P., Katja and Marie.

The exhibition is funded by Fonds Kulturelle Bildung im Alter, Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen.
