Atelier Meissner

ATELIER MEISSNER is an architectural office in Bonn that combines architectural theory with sustainable and contemporary construction. With a profound expertise in ecological building and timber construction, the office develops innovative concepts that are theoretically reflected and practically realizable. Through the examination of material, space and context, projects are created that combine sustainability, aesthetics and function. ATELIER MEISSNER is also involved in urban planning and contemporary design.

Artists

Video portraits emerge in unexpected places in the context of the project I AM THE FIRST LESBIAN I EVER MET. These are portraits of lesbian and queer women from Bonn, recorded in settings and with objects they have chosen themselves. Surprising, temporary and yet with clear presence, they interrupt prevailing pictorial worlds and occupy the places in public that are generally not accessible to older women in general and to older, queer women in particular.

Protagonists in this version of the work: Karla M. Götze und Rita Martin

An exhibition on the project I AM THE FIRST LESBIAN I EVER MET can be seen at Flow.
