Exhibition venues in the city

Zentrifuge

The centrifuge is a venue with a special history: the large, circular room was built in the 1950s by the German Aviation Research Institute (DVL) as an extension of the Institute of Aviation Medicine to test the effects of strong acceleration on the human body. The facility was in operation until 1980; since then the room has stood empty. In 2009, Monika Osterheld and Peter Koepke took over the centrifuge and the institute's villa and renovated and established this historic location as an open space for music and culture with great commitment.

Artists

Future Perfect Continuous is inspired by a children’s game, in which one imitates a rainstorm in the group with simple gestures. Here it is young adults, people who must live with the climate change and at the same time have the possibility to shape the future. Through sound and physical proximity, the work also involves us viewers. We take an interest in this collective act of making weather and can only resist its effects and impact with difficulty.
