Scher has been addressing the limits of authenticity and self-enactment in her Lip Sync series since the 1980s. By imitating extraneous texts, she questions control and surveillance – common themes found throughout her work. Lip Sync 2025 continues this discourse and creates links with current questions of self-perception.
